Identity Theft

If You Suspect Identity Theft

Identity theft claims are serious. They should only ever be made when they are true.

If you believe accounts were opened or used without your authorization, the appropriate response involves official channels and accurate statements.

Reasonable first steps

Consumers commonly consider the following:

  • Reviewing reports from each consumer reporting agency
  • Reporting the matter through the appropriate official channels
  • Notifying affected creditors
  • Considering a fraud alert or security freeze
  • Keeping a written record of every contact

Our position

Fred Livai Financial will not submit a false identity-theft claim under any circumstance. A false claim damages credibility and can carry serious consequences.
